Get to know your soap(er) -May/June 2026
It’s been a while! May was a busy month for us filled with Birthdays, Holidays, Anniversaries, and Graduations. The next thing we knew it was over and I hadn’t even thought about writing up our May edition.
Now we’re almost through June and I’ve more questions to make up for it!
This first question is one that has come up a lot recently and it makes me so very excited.
Do you take custom orders?
The short answer? YES!
The long answer? Yes! I love working with people to create something THEY want! It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now and I wasn’t quite sure how to approach it, but being asked has forced me to tackle it head on and I’m so very thankful for it.
With the custom orders, we’re able to customize the scent, color, inclusions and even cut of the bars. I’m offering custom loafs in 1lb (4-4oz bars), 3lb (9-4.5oz bars) or 5lb (15-4.5oz bars) options. All of the loafs include the bars and end cuts (also known as “heels”)
If this is something you may be interested in, I’d love to hear from you. The 1lb loaf starts at $18 and goes up from there. These loafs are perfect if you like a particular scent, if you’re wanting favors for a party like a shower or wedding, or if you’re wanting gifts for your family and friends.
In an earlier edition I had mentioned making breastmilk soap (which I know for some may seem odd, but for others it can be something very sentimental) and it’s something I feel very passionate about. As a mother I know how much work it takes to create the milk that nourishes our children. It can be hard to “let it go to waste” if something were to happen to make it not fit for consumption. Being able to offer my services to turn that liquid gold into something that is still functional and beneficial for the child/family is so very special. The use of milk replaces the water in my recipes and it’s no different than making a goats milk soap. Because it is illegal to sell breastmilk soap, I’d like to reiterate that it’s selling my services and you would have to purchase the full loaf and provide your own milk.

Do you have Goats milk soap?
Unfortunately no. :( I haven’t found anybody local yet to source the milk, and ideally I’d love to have my own goats for it. If you or anybody you know would like to collaborate, I’d love to get in touch!
You crochet items too?
At one of our recent events, people were shocked that I crochet all the cotton items I offer. Everything I sell I make myself. I make Cotton Washcloths, Soap saving pouches, Face scrubbies, and I’ve started offering cotton loofas. All of them are machine washable.
I’ve been crocheting since I was 14 and it’s still like magic how the yarn can turn into a 3D piece from a bunch of knots.
Will you only make soap or are there plans to diversify?
As mentioned above, I crochet too, but I’ve also been wanting to get into bath bombs/shower steamers and chapsticks for the company growth. I’m currently looking for bath bomb testers. Theres several things I’ve briefly looked into creating, but as of right now I try to stay clear of anything that requires the use of preservatives.
What are your most popular scents?
The Mr. And I were recently talking about this and how much the answers surprised us. What we really like in a scent and try to anticipate sometimes has been very different from our sales.
So far the most popular are Oatmeal Milk & Honey, SuperSuds, Watermelon sugar, Lilac, Pink strawberry, and Energy.
I know we have a lot to offer and it can be overwhelming at times. It’s been really cool to see what everybody steers towards when they’re trying them out for the first time :)
And lastly….
What is your least favorite thing about making soap?
Oh man, hands down doing the dishes. Haha. When I’m done making a batch or several of soap, I wipe down my equipment as much as possible, but then I try and wait a day or two for any remaining batter to turn into soap so it’s easier to clean. I hand wash it all and keep my soap dishes separate from our every day and I hate the act of washing them, but even more hate all the space it takes up waiting for it to be washed/dried. First world problems, I know. It’s my equivalent to weaving in ends on a fiber project. Dreaded but necessary.
